The Swedish – East African Chamber of Commerce (SWEACC) was established in November 2010 as the inaugural Swedish chamber of commerce dedicated to exploring business prospects in Africa, particularly within the EAC region. SWEACC serves as a testament to the substantial business potential inherent in the East African Community.

Our primary objectives are twofold: to serve as a networking hub for business professionals keen on the EAC and to organize seminars offering valuable insights into the economic landscape and private sector of the region. Additionally, the Chamber provides a platform for Embassies and distinguished visitors, fostering informal interactions with the Swedish and diaspora business communities.

Experiencing rapid growth, SWEACC now boasts a membership of 200 individuals and entities, ranging from private individuals to large corporations. In a short span, SWEACC has cultivated strong ties with key entities such as the Swedish Department for Foreign Affairs, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Business Sweden – the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, as well as regional chambers of commerce in both Sweden and the EAC. The Chamber was founded in 2010 by experienced and passionate Swedish business leaders who recognized the tremendous business opportunities within the EAC region.

As a membership-based organization, we welcome over 200 members, encompassing diverse companies from the public and private sectors. Our members represent a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, ICT, energy, and manufacturing.

SWEACC offers an array of services to its members:

1. Networking Events: Organizing seminars, conferences, and business lunches to facilitate connections and relationship-building between Swedish and East African businesses.

2. Trade Missions: Leading regular trade missions to East Africa, providing Swedish companies with opportunities to explore new markets and engage with potential customers and partners.

3. Market Research and Consulting Services: Offering market research and consulting services to help Swedish companies comprehend the East African market and formulate successful business strategies.

4. Advocacy: Championing the interests of our members to both the Swedish and East African governments.

SWEACC plays a pivotal role in fostering economic ties between Sweden and East Africa, contributing to job creation, economic growth, and the fortification of connections between the two regions.
